Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party 2018

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a fantastic way to celebrate Halloween with your family - whether your a family with young children (or older children - teens), a couple on fun-filled adventure, or a group of friends. This fun Halloween experience even allows for adults to enter the Magic Kingdom in costume. Disney does have guidelines that you must follow to wear your costume in the park check.

During the event, families can check out Disney attractions, visit unique characters, Trick-or-Treat in the park, see the Mickey's Boo to You Halloween Parade (some clips from the parade can be viewed on my facebook page: facebook.com/ftjbybrittany - be sure to like and follow along on all my Disney adventures and updates), watch the Happy Hallowishes Fireworks, and the special show Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. Guests will need to buy a special party ticket, in addition to your park tickets, to access this fantastic event.

This year's party included some special enhancements including:

- Special music and lighting at the Mad Tea Party

- Live Pirates in the Pirates of the Caribbean line and even on the ride itself (this one was my favorite!)

- A new soundtrack and special effects on Space Mountain

- A special dance party with the Monster Inc. friends

- Special ghost visitors outside of the Haunted Mansion

In addition to these thrilling enhancements the atmosphere is incredible around the park with special lighting and music!

If you're headed to the parks be sure to get your treat bag at the entrance after getting your special bracelet to mark that you are able to enter the park. Guests with dietary restrictions can request an allergy-friendly bag to redeem allergy friendly treats at the end of the night. Most nights they are allowing guests in with special party tickets at around 4 p.m. which lets you make the most out of your party ticket. If you have a favorite character that you must see be sure to get in the line once the party starts - as these lines were incredibly long when we were there in September. All Trick-or-Treat locations are located on the map and very clearly marked in the park so that you can easily find them throughout the night.

What are the specific Halloween costume guidelines?

Visit the official page to make sure your Halloween costume adheres the guidelines:

Do adults dress up for the party too? Can they trick-or-treat?

Yes to both! Adults definitely Trick-or-Treat in addition to the kids. They also love dressing up for this party and you can expect many people to go all out! I love people watching to see all the creative costumes that people come up with. Some people choose to forgo the costume and will wear a festive holiday shirt instead.

We did opt for some Halloween shirts this year (in addition to my Halloween Chronicles of a Pixie Ears) as it was very hot when we attended and I am currently pregnant so I was all about comfort over additional layers. Be sure to keep the weather in mind when planning costumes for adults and kids as the heat and a thick costume can be uncomfortable to some.

What type of allergy-friendly treats are there and how do I get them?

Check out my blog post on the Allergy Friendly options for more information. This seriously made me sooo happy to have this element thought of and I can only imagine how special it is for kids with dietary restrictions.

Are there special Halloween food options and treats at the quick service locations?

Yes! Be sure to check out the picture of the map below to see all the special offerings. You can still mobile order your favorites from these locations as well!

Hope you get to check out the party this year and if you're not able to, definitely try to make it to the 2019 party!
